Why Am I Suffering?

by Leave a Comment

Pain. Suffering. Agony.
You know those days when your stomach is twisted in knots over some aspect of your life? Maybe you have financial concerns, maybe you lost a loved one, maybe you suffered some kind of heartbreak, or maybe it’s one of those days where it just feels like the world is against you…. When you just cry, “Lord, why am I suffering?!”

Yeah. I’ve been there too.

Then I am reminded of Our Lord’s own suffering. He made the ultimate sacrifice.
You know how the anticipation of something bad always seems to be worse than the actual event? It makes me wonder if that’s what Jesus experienced in the Garden…. He sweated blood asking the Father if this cup could pass Him by!
But then He still said Yes to the Father’s will.
I find it comforting to know that, even in our deepest suffering, God will see us through.
Although we may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel, we can still trust God and have hope.
Jesus was resurrected. Let us have Faith in and Hope for the resurrection in our own lives!

What has God seen you through?
