We’re going back to basics with our Sauteed Green Beans with Garlic and Onion!
Can everyone say “Yum!”
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how there are a lot of people who struggle with learning about what a healthy diet looks like. Of course, there are many of us who have varying opinions about what makes up a healthy diet, but I’m sure we can agree that a diet full of convenience and convenience type foods is not included. I’m also sure we can agree that a diet that incorporates fruits and vegetables is very important.
Now, there are others who do realize this, but find it hard to eat “healthy” because it just doesn’t taste good. My goal is to share some healthy, yet flavorful foods that we all can enjoy!
With that in mind, I wanted to share a simple recipe for Sauteed Green Beans with Garlic and Onion. My husband and I love this recipe, and my kids do most of the time. Being kids, however, they do have periods of time where they dislike things they previously liked and vice versa.
You’ll also find that we like to use a lot of butter – this link will explain why! If butter isn’t your thing, you can always substitute with come coconut oil.
1 LB Frozen Green Beans

1/2 an onion sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup butter

Salt to taste {I prefer course kosher salt (affiliate) for this, but used pink sea salt}
- Start by melting your butter in your skillet at medium heat.
- If you haven’t done so yet, slice your onions and mince your garlic.
- Once your butter is melted, at the onion and garlic to the pan.
- Saute until the onions start to look a little translucent.
- Add your bag of frozen green beans.
- Mix well with the onions, then let it cook. Make sure you stir them intermittently.
- After a little while, they will be nice green. You’ll notice some water in the pan. Continue to stir until most of the water has evaporated.
- By that time, the green beans should be nice and hot.
Serve and Enjoy!
