Don’t you just love it when God forces you to do something? I find myself presently present per His say-so.
Being present and in the moment is not a new concept, especially in our fast-paced world. It seems like everyone is trying to find the magic formula that will allow them to achieve that. There is this push/pull relationship between being in the present and working toward the future.
So what happens when you find yourself forced to live in the present, taking it day by day? Well, if you’re like me, you start to freak out and call your mom to figure out why you feel so stuck! (Just me? Oh, okay.)
Subconsciously you know that everything will be okay and that God will take care of you. He always comes through even if it’s not the way we imagined. But you still can’t shake that fear of the unknown. You just need to hash it out, talk with someone, and feel as if you’re able to do something about it.
Then take a deep breath and enjoy the present. Sit a little longer with your kids, or can some beans and enjoy the process. Take care of the day to day responsibilities in life that need to be addressed and learn to just be (I’ve found that making coffee with our new French Press is very therapeutic).
At least this is the lesson that I need to learn a little better.

P.S. I also think dreaming while being in the present is still totally acceptable… as long as it doesn’t cause you any undo stress or anxiety about the future.
Do you find it difficult to just be in the present moment?
