Homesteading the Soul

by Leave a Comment

When I came up with the name for my blog, I called it Homestead to Heaven because I wanted it to be about homesteading and our journey towards that, while also acknowledging that our ultimate journey is to heaven.

Well, what do we think of when we think about what happens on a homestead once we get past the romantic notions associated with it? (I’m not the only one who tends to romanticize things, right?)

Growth.

Hard Work.

Death.

New Life.

Sounds a lot like Faith to me….

While I still look forward to the day when we can own acres of land which we will consider our homestead, I am reminded that I am already homesteading (in a way) – tending to my soul and those of my family.

While I was over here thinking that I was being unproductive, I’ve come to realize that there has been a lot growth. God has been teaching us to trust in His will. Although the journey may not look like we had originally imagined for ourselves, we have hope for the future.

I’m really excited to see where He leads us this year! So many things are in the works right now – please keep us in your prayers as we continue to take it one day at a time.
