When life comes at you fast, you kind of just have to hang on!

Honestly though, it’s been a wild ride of faith and trusting in God amidst the anxieties of life.

At the end of June, I began preparing myself to launch a virtual assistant business. I decided to take it slow and go through a program that helped me make sure I had certain business details all squared away.

In August, I started working with my first client! Now, at the end of October, I find myself working with 3 wonderful women who are working on their amazing businesses!

During that time, we had little Lilliana, who has stolen the hearts of all her siblings. It’s hard to believe that she’s already 8 weeks old!

A few weeks after we started homeschooling (and about 2 weeks before the public school system started), we decided to enroll the oldest three in a Montessori Charter school. It has been the best decision for our family at this point in our lives! I also find that it’s a happy medium between homeschooling and public school.

Michael really wanted to join the kids, but I really needed someone to be home to play with Matthew who is full of 3 year old energy! I would really have to fear for the baby’s life otherwise.

Michael’s getting along well though as we work through his Kindergarten year at home. He was struggling to write his numbers, but I feel like that’s starting to click this week! You should see the smile on his face whenever he writes them.

We still have many cares and concerns for the future, but we’re trusting in God’s loving providence. All we can do is take one day at a time, and take each step in discernment of His Will.

Today, like many days, Michael was talking about the house “we’re going to get.” My re-direction to him was just as much a re-direction for myself – I said, “Let’s not talk about what we want, let’s just thank God for all the blessings that we have.”

Although we’re still learning God’s lesson in trust in Him, there’s been a deeper underlying message that has started to come to the surface. The message is about gratitude – gratitude for all of the many blessing that He has provided us with.

We have our Faith
We have one another
We have a very supportive extended family
John currently has a job
We have a roof over our heads
We have 3 meals a day, and even snacks (and coffee!)
…and so many other things to be thankful for.
