Is it your dream to homestead and be self-sufficient? Do you want to move to a piece of land to fulfill those dreams?
I don’t know about you… but I gobble up the information presented to me by other homesteading bloggers. Most of them are currently living and working their land, and building their homesteads. They have a vast amount of knowledge to offer about the homestead way of life, and strive to help others achieve the goal of homesteading.
If all of that great info is already out there, then why am I here?
Although these bloggers write great articles on the skills they’ve acquired, and encourage us to acquire these same skills; it’s hard to find someone writing about what it takes to acquire those skills while they are currently DREAMING of that “one day” homestead. I want to read about someone who is currently striving for a more self-sufficient lifestyle while living in town, but is dreaming of and preparing for the day when they can expand their homesteading efforts with more land and the opportunities that it provides. Of course, while taking into consideration all of the other facets of being a homeschooling, stay at home mama!
There are some days where I feel so discouraged, where I feel that my dreams will never be realized. I want to know what other people are doing to prepare for the realization of their dreams while keeping up with the house, the kids, and the schooling of their kids. I haven’t found too many blogs like this. So I’ve decided to try and help provide that encouragement for you, because I know that there has to be other mamas (or dads) out there with this same dream.
So, chin up! One day we’ll have the land to delve deeper into our homesteading efforts. For now, let’s learn what we can, while remembering to be thankful for all of the blessings God has already bestowed upon us.
a little bit about me…
My name is Nicole, and I live with my family in a small city in Eastern Ohio. I am wife to a hard-working man, stay at home mom of 4 young children, and a wannabe homesteader (read: out of the city with acres of land). My Catholic Faith is the center from which my life revolves; all that I do, I aim to do for the Glory of God.
Eventually, we’d love to buy some land, build our forever home, and work to build and maintain a more self-sufficient lifestyle.
Come join me as we strive to become debt free, learn valuable homesteading and homemaking skills, meal plan and cook from scratch, use Essential Oils and other natural remedies and recipes in our home, and homeschool our children.
Now, I can’t help but ask….
What are you doing to prepare for your “one day” homestead? How do you stay in the moment while looking toward the future?
